How old do I have to be to rent a boat?

You must be 25 years of age to rent a boat.

Do I have to pay to rent additional equipment?

Bay Area Boat Rentals is here to provide you with the most for the least.  All watersport equipment is included in each rental.  With each rental, you will get a wakeboard, surfboard, knee board, tube, and necessary ropes.

What safety equipment is on the boat?

Each of our boats comes standard with the necessary equipment recommended by the United States Coast Guard which includes: Personal Floatation Devices, anchor, oar, fire extinguisher, flag, first aid kit, and dock ties.

How much is the security deposit?

The security deposit is $5,000.

What if equipment is damaged?

Equipment is verified in working condition before the boat is rented.  If equipment is damaged, the cost to fix or repair the damaged item will be subtracted from your security deposit.  Damage to the boat will also be deducted from the security deposit.

What if there is a mechanical issue with the boat during my rental?

Our boats are new and covered under a seven year industry leading warranty.  In addition, we have a certified Mastercraft mechanic service our boats on a regular basis.  We do not anticipate a mechanical failure, but in the event that one happens, Bay Area Boat Rentals will attempt to accommodate you for the lost time in the rental.

What size vehicle do I need to tow?

In order to tow one of our boats, we require a full size truck or SUV with at least 7,500 lbs. towing capacity and a trailer hitch with a 2" ball.

Where did you purchase the boats from?

Bay Area Boat Rentals purchased their boats from Nor-Cal Mastercraft located in Discovery Bay.  If you want additional information on the rental boat and what options are on the boat, stop by and ask for Joe.
